Dave is engaged in general practice, including but not limited to the areas of family law, business law, litigation, public utility law, real estate, tax returns, wills, trusts, estate planning and probate.
Dave grew up north of Des Moines, Iowa. He attended Iowa State University from 1967 to 1971 and graduated with a degree in Distributed Studies (English, History and Education). From 1975 to 1977, Dave studied accounting and business administration at the University of Iowa. He then attended Creighton University School of Law from 1977 to 1979 where he received his juris doctor degree.
While in law school, Dave clerked for the law firm of Don Carlos & Carlberg in Greenfield. After graduation and passing the bar exam, Dave was then hired by the firm as an associate attorney. Two years later Dave was admitted as a partner in the firm and he has practiced at that location ever since.
Dave chaired the Family and Juvenile Law Section of the Iowa State Bar Association from 1999-2000 and from 2005-2006. He has served two terms on the Board of Governors for the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association and has served as the Iowa State Bar Association’s representative on the Child Support Advisory Committee. Dave was recently featured in The Iowa Lawyer magazine in an article entitled “Lawyer by Day – And by Night.” |

Amy is also engaged in general practice, including but not limited to the areas of business law, contracts, family law, litigation, public utility law and real estate.
Amy, who is Dave's niece, grew up in Adel, Iowa, where many of her and Dave's family presently reside. Amy obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management from Iowa State University in 1999. She then attended Creighton University School of Law, where she received her juris doctor degree in 2002.
Amy spent her first year of practice with the law firm of Carter & Pargulski, P.C., in Des Moines before joining Dave's firm as an associate in 2003. Amy became of partner of the firm in 2004.
Amy is currently Vice Chair of the Family and Juvenile Law Section of the Iowa State Bar Association and serves on the Board of Governors for the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association. She also keeps busy outside the office by coaching cheerleading, serving on the Board of Managers for the Des Moines YMCA Camp, and acting as President of the House Corporation Board for Chi Omega women’s fraternity at Iowa State University. |
